My heart fills with so much joy when I look through Emily and Matthew’s photos from their wedding at Linwood Estate last month. If you follow my blog closely you know that I met this couple in the spring of 2018 when Matt proposed to Emily at Keswick Vineyards right outside of Charlottesville. They both live in Pennsylvania but love the Charlottesville area and Matthew knew Emily well enough to know she would be blown away by the gorgeous views at Keswick. That day, Emily thought she wasn’t getting engaged for another few years so it was a HUGE surprise and I will never forget the excitement on her face when she picked up the wine bottle that said, “Emily, will you marry me?”

Throughout the last year or so, Emily and Matthew have been the most warm, welcoming, and excited couple. I loved how Emily texted me with pictures of her details leading up to her day and would ask my opinion on various things regarding photography. The way that she cared about wanting to make my job easy and fun was so special.

I knew showing up that gorgeous day in May that it was going to be a good one. I had never shot a wedding in Pennsylvania until this and let’s just say this venue and everything about this day did not let me down. Every single moment was thoroughly executed, the team at Linwood was so kind, every family member was wonderful, and of course Emily and Matthew are some of my favorite humans so that made the day an absolute joy to photograph.

The way these two love each other and care for each other is inspiring. It reminds me of why I love what I do and makes me so grateful for the people I get to meet and befriend through this job. Their wedding photos are some of my favorites and while I have so many moments I could write about, I think the images will do a better job of telling the story.
