I got an email from Marc a few months back saying he was planning a proposal and would love for me to photograph it. He briefly explained that he was on military deployment and would only be back for a couple weeks so it had to be done in that time frame. I thankfully had the time open and we set a date. As everyone knows by now, I love proposals and any time I’m already booked on the day someone inquires for one, I get so upset! Haha!

We had picked a location and everything was set for when Marc finally came home! So we thought… I get a call from a Germany number a few weeks before the proposal was supposed to take place and although I don’t normally answer unknown numbers, I answered this one. It was Marc. He told me that since he had been deployed, he and Megan emailed as often as possible. When she didn’t get an email from him, she’d often log into his email to see if there were any drafts that didn’t go through due to his limited internet. Well, I can imagine you know where this story is going. Megan saw an email regarding an engagement ring. But Marc did his best to to convince Megan that he unfortunately didn’t have the money right then to pay for a ring and was just doing some research. But we knew then that convincing Megan to dress up and have a day at the vineyard with Marc would be entirely too obvious of a proposal. So Marc changed his plans and proposed in Megan’s backyard when she was least expecting it, which ended up being perfect for the two of them and clearly meant to be! So although I didn’t get to be there, they set up an engagement shoot instead and it was incredible. We shot at the beautiful Veritas Winery and I got to capture this season of being newly engaged for Megan and Marc before he deployed again and it was so special. These two are some of the nicest people you’ll meet and I am glad I get to share some of their images with you today!!!
