I photographed Lily and John’s Blue Ridge Parkway engagement session only a few days before my wedding! Planning a wedding in six weeks and being in the middle of busy season was a little crazy on my part but I’m glad I didn’t have to sacrifice shooting this session! I know a lot of the same people that Lily and John know through connected church communities here in Charlottesville and also, I didn’t realize this until the day I photographed them, but John used to barista at one of the coffeeshops I frequent so I’d see him there quite often. The Charlottesville community is small and the longer I live here, the more I notice it! But it makes it fun being in an industry where I meet so many faces, especially ones like these two!

Lily and John are getting married down south in March where Lily’s family is but they weren’t able to get their engagement photos done there so I was the lucky one to do them! I feel like I say this a lot (and I do) but I am obsessed with their session! I’ve shot at Ravens Roost and the parkway visitor’s center so many times and something about this session just made this location come to life. It was probably their infectious smiles and joy in the Lord!

We truly could not have asked for a more beautiful day or better fall colors. It was a delight to photograph these cuties and I know they’re counting down the days until they’re able to finally be married and start their life together. I know that season of waiting is hard at times and I am so excited that they’re so close! Only a couple more months! Lily and John, I’m so glad our paths crossed and I know you saw these photos a while ago, but I hope you love them!
