Lauren and Michael’s Scottsville, Virginia wedding at Mount Ida Farm was my first of the 2016 season and it did not disappoint. I’m always a little nervous getting back into the routine of weddings which I think is good because it keeps me on my feet, but as soon as I showed up, I was reminded why I love this job. The getting ready room was full of places to hang the dress and Lauren’s beautiful details were sitting in a box for me, just waiting to be styled. What a dream!! It made me even more excited to get the day going and to see Lauren and Michael in their wedding attire. Lauren looked like a princess and Michael looked so handsome in his navy tux.

What was extra fun about this day was that I got to shoot at Mount Ida’s new Lodge! I was the second ever photographer to shoot a wedding there which was SO cool because I hadn’t seen any images taken there and I knew whatever I did would be something completely new! Mount Ida’s beautiful venue paired with Lauren’s impeccable style made everything so easy to capture. And this couple’s love for one another made the day so joyful to be a part of.

Lauren and Michael opted for a first look which I am always a fan of and their first look in particular is one I will never forget. As Michael turned around to see his bride, he had a smile a mile wide and it all became real. After taking some beautiful bride and groom portraits, it was ceremony time! They spoke the most heartfelt vows to each other that brought their guests to tears. Honestly, the whole day was so special and it really was the best way to start this wedding season.
