This proposal shoot is one of my absolute favorites for so many reasons. First of all, it took place at Ravens Roost, which is one of my favorite spots in the area. It’s an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway where I’ve spent many hours thinking and it never fails to inspire me. It’s such a stunning spot and although I’m familiar with it, I always love recommending it to people and getting to see their reactions when we pull up. Matt called me a while back about his plan to propose to Britt and he knew the parkway would be the perfect spot so we decided on Ravens Roost and it did not disappoint.

Matt ended up taking a wrong turn on the way to the overlook so they were running a bit behind but I was so excited when they finally got there. I was playing tourist and pretending to photograph the mountains and thankfully Britt was totally oblivious. Haha!! And that leads me into the second reason I loved this day — Britt was SO surprised. She wasn’t expecting this and I just think that always makes every proposal extra special. 🙂 Props to Matt for keeping it all a secret!

My time with these two was so fun and I could have stayed there photographing them all day if the sun had never set. They were so happy they were practically beaming and getting to capture that brought me so much joy. Britt and Matt, I hope you love these and that they are a constant reminder of your love for each other!! Here are a few of my favorites!
