I can’t even begin to tell you how long I’ve dreamed of shooting in a sunflower field. There was one sunflower field that I knew of in Virginia before we moved at Pharsalia and Sam and I actually had the opportunity to photograph and film some of it in full bloom for their website but I never had the chance to take a couple out there. And the sunflowers are usually only in full bloom for a week so it just didn’t work out. I was always SO sad about it but I knew there was this gorgeous farm with sunflowers here on Oahu so when I moved, I immediately looked up the timing of the blooms!

Since I needed content anyway for my portfolio, I just did this shoot for fun! I ended up finding Rynah and Jon and they were an absolute DREAM to work with. They were SOOO easy to pose, so fun, and so kind. They are basically the models for every photoshoot here on Oahu, which I have since realized. Haha. I always see them modeling for styled shoots and whatnot, which is so fun!!

For this shoot, I had a very specific vision and I really wanted to make sure the outfits were what I was imagining. So I actually had Rynah wear one of my favorite dresses, that I have yet to find a reason to wear. And somehow, it ended up fitting her like a GLOVE. I was SO excited. And she brought her own hat which was perfect for this location.

I can’t even believe this spot is real. I can barely believe I live in Hawaii and get to shoot at locations like this. What a dream come true! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do! And if anyone wants to do a session here when the flowers are back in bloom, I am ready for it!
