Have I mentioned I love engagement and couples’ sessions?! Oh my goodness, this session was seriously an absolute DREAM. Ashley and Alex are from Florida and traveled to Oahu for their wedding! They booked Sam and I for photo and video and we absolutely loved being a part of their day. We actually did these engagement photos a couple days before their wedding since they weren’t able to visit Oahu ahead of time. I absolutely love when couples make time for an engagement session before their big day. It builds a friendship and trust ahead of time that allows the wedding day to run smoothly and it also helps each couple to feel more comfortable being photographed.

This was not your normal engagement session, though. Ashley mentioned to me when we were planning that they might be up for getting in the water. I actually had never shot a couple in the water before so I was SO excited. We all brought our bathing suits and at the end of the shoot, we hopped in the calm, gorgeous, blue water at this amazing location.

The entire shoot was seriously beyond stunning but I loved switching it up and getting to direct them in to playful poses in the water. It was super inspiring to do something different and I couldn’t be more excited about how they all turned out. Their wedding will be up on the blog before too long but I hope you enjoy one of my favorite engagement sessions of all time. Ashley and Alex were such a joy to work with!!
