This past summer I got to photograph Ashlyn on her visit here to Oahu and it was such a fun shoot! I got to shoot at a new beach I had never shot at before and I felt so inspired working with a new background. Ashlyn was such a gorgeous subject! I’m so glad most of my seniors book my middle or top collection because having an hour or more, plus multiple outfits, really gives us ample time to capture some amazing photos with lots of variety.

Ashlyn and I wandered all over the beautiful back beach streets of the north shore for the first bit of the shoot. I absolutely LOVE exploring these areas. They are full of lush plants, gorgeous homes, and pretty trails. Then we headed over to the beach and there were some fun props to work with like the lifeguard tower and some rocks, which always is nice when shooting on the beach.

I also looove when my clients get a lei po’o or haku as some people call it. That’s the gorgeous flower piece that she’s wearing on her head. I highly recommend Lulu’s or Lalaine’s Lei Po’o which is where Ashlyn got hers. There are so many amazing florists who do them but these are two I’ve worked with and they’ve been super great!

Getting senior photos done in Hawaii and allowing the time with your photographer to be a part of your experience on the island is such a good way to go! I love choosing a fun location that might be new to my clients and getting to show them around!
