One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is when I have the opportunity to work with a couple or family multiple times. I photographed Kathleen’s wedding a couple years ago and she became a sweet friend of mine so when her sister Megan inquired with me as well, I could have cried!

I actually met Megan and Marc about a month before Kathleen’s wedding when Marc was home from deployment for a very short amount of time and got down on one knee to propose. That is actually a funny story because I was supposed to capture the proposal but Megan accidentally ended up figuring it all out so Marc chose to do it in a more private setting. But I did get to meet them a couple days later for an engagement session at Veritas, which was so much fun!

Sadly, Marc deployed again after he proposed so the wedding planning took a little bit of a backseat but when he finally got back, the planning was underway! Megan’s family is from the Charlottesville area but Megan and Marc planned their wedding from California, where they currently live and are stationed. I have so much admiration for this, especially after seeing how absolutely magical the wedding day was, because I know how challenging that can be!

Their wedding day at Ash Lawn was seriously perfect in every single way. Wedding days can be hectic and crazy and I personally didn’t experience anything going wrong. We had ideal weather, the timeline was a breeze, and Megan and Marc trusted in me, which obviously allowed them to have the best photos possible.

This couple is just as sweet as they are photogenic and I truly feel so blessed to have been a part of this day. My heart is so full as I look back on these images and I can see such a radiant joy from not just Megan and Marc, but from everyone who was a part of the day!! It was such a beautiful celebration! Megan and Marc, I am grateful for you both!!! I can’t wait to see you again before too long!!
