When I first moved to Hawaii and was building my portfolio, I was shooting a lot of families to start out. It wasn’t really my first choice of what I wanted to shoot but because there are so many people traveling to Oahu, family shoots are HUGE! I get more family inquiries here in a few months span than I did in a whole year back in Virginia.

I personally prefer couples, weddings, and senior portraits but I was obviously shooting anything and everything when I first got here. After shooting quite a few families at first, getting this engagement shoot inquiry was so exciting! Trang and Joseph ended up hiring me and we shot in a location I hadn’t actually even been to before. I got there really early to scout and once I saw the area, I was so ready for the shoot to start. The mountains were so beautiful on this side of the island and while the light was a bit harsh at the beginning of the shoot, the sunset at the end was truly one of the best I’ve shot in since being here. It was such a dreamy evening and Trang and Joseph were truly the nicest people.
